Official accommodation
booking link
The Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau have
reserved an allocation of rooms in the hotels listed on the
accommodation booking link on ESM webpage (www.ESM2008.info). These
rooms are available at preferred rates and can be booked through the
web link until Thursday 17 July 2008.
If you would like to book your room from the
allocation we would advise you make the reservation before this date.
After
Friday 18 July 2008 it will not be possible to book accommodation
through the web link, however you will be able to download a PDF accommodation booking form to
complete and return to the Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau who
will assist with your accommodation request (subject to availability).

Transportation

travelling to Dundee
BY RAIL:
Dundee is on the main East Coast route with direct services to
Newcastle, York and London, and to Sheffield, Birmingham, Bristol and
Plymouth. There are overnight sleeper services from London, the south
coast and the west country. Rail journeys to the other major cities in
Scotland (Aberdeen, Eden¬burgh, Glasgow) take approximately 1¼ hours.
The regular service from London King’s Cross Station takes only six
hours. The modern railway station is only a few minutes walk from the
University.
BY
COACH:
Day and night coach services (operated by National Express, Stagecoach,
and Citylink) are available to all major cities throughout the UK
including London.
BY
CAR:
Dundee is linked to the rest of the UK by continuous motorway and dual
carriage¬way. Dundee is best approached from the south via the A90 for
traffic coming from Eden¬burgh (M90) and Glasgow (A9) and beyond. From
the outskirts of Dundee the route into the University and the Medical
School is well sign¬posted and relatively easy to follow. Ninewells
Hospital and Medical School is a prominent landmark on the approach to
Dundee via the A90.

AIR:
You can fly into Dundee Airport from Aberdeen, Edinburgh (with a link
to London Heathrow), Manchester and London City (with ScotAirways). The
airport is only five minutes drive from the University and Medical
School. International airports at Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow can
be reached by road in less than two hours. For further information

2. Free airport coach transfers AIRPORT
COACH TRANSFERS
The Dundee & Angus Convention Bureau have arranged free airport
coach transfers operating to and from Edinburgh Airport and Dundee .
Arrival coaches will depart from the Coach Park
outside UK Arrivals at Edinburgh Airport at designated times with the
principal drop-off points being : Invercarse Hotel; West Park ;
Travelodge Dundee Central; Hilton Dundee and Apex City Quay Hotel
& Spa and return coaches from Dundee will drop
delegates off at Edinburgh Airport.
The estimated travel time is approximately 70 minutes.

trains in the UK. The average travel time via train is roughly 1hour 20
mins.
If delegates want to hire a car the average travel time is about 1 hour
30 mins to 2 hours depending on the traffic.
